ProEvolution Hockey announces second Hockey IQ Speaker Series guest.

Rockland, MA - May 20, 2013 – ProEvolution Hockey (www.proevolutionhockey.com) announced today that Merrimack College Head Hockey Coach, Mark Dennehy, will be the next featured guest speaker in our second installment of the Hockey IQ series.  On Wednesday, June 5^th at 7:00 PM Coach Dennehy will be at the Mark Bavis Arena in Rockland to speak with ProEvolution members and share his unique insight and perspective on a number of topics related to the current state of youth hockey development and the impact he sees on his recruitment process at the college level.

ProEvolution’s President, Mike Roberts, said, "We are excited to have Coach Dennehy come in and spend time with our members.  We think it’s a unique offering to allow parents and players a little inside look at what a Division I coach looks for in an athlete.  Additionally, I think people will be impressed with Mark’s candor and insight as he pulls no punches when it comes to where feels youth hockey development is heading.  I’ve know Mark for a number of years and his passion for the game is unmatched and people will feel that when they hear him speak.  This will be a great hockey IQ session for our members."

Dennehy created, founded, and directed the U.S. College Hockey Advancement Camp.  The USCHA program includes practices, seminars, and games each day; as well as seminars which include topics such as the NCAA Clearinghouse, Strength & Conditioning, and a panel discussion between the prospects, their parents, and college coaches.

A member of the American Hockey Coaches Association since 1994, Dennehy was named to the AHCA Board of Governors in 2006. He has also volunteered for both Massachusetts Hockey and USA Hockey.

The Dorchester native excelled as a student-athlete in high school graduating from Boston College High School in 1986.  He then prepped a year at Deerfield Academy prior to attending Boston College in 1987 where he helped the Eagles win three Hockey East regular season titles and the 1989-90 Hockey East Championship while serving as the Assistant Captain as a senior in 1990-91.

He then went on to play a season in Britain's elite league for the Ayr Raiders in 1991-92. Dennehy parlayed that into a tryout with the Fort Wayne Comets in the IHL before trading in his skates for a whistle.

High School Shinny Hockey at Bavis Arena

The popular High School Shinny Hockey is back at Bavis Arena

Starting May 10^th through August 31^st

 

 come work on your skills every Friday and Saturday night

 

 Cost per skater: $20.00 per session

 

* If you’re a ProEvolution Member it’s $15.00 per session

 

 Friday Time: 8:10 PM – 9:40 PM

 

Saturday Time: 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM

 

Our intent is to provide area hockey players with a safe place to come on weekend nights where they can have fun and work on their hockey skills.  We will not tolerate any behavior that conflicts with this philosophy therefore the following rules are strictly enforced:

• ALL SKATERS MUST SIGN WAIVER PRIOR TO STEPPING ON THE ICE.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
• WE HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY WHEN IT COMES TO:
  • DRUG/ALCOHOL USE IN ANY WAY
  • BULLYING OF ANY KIND (VERBAL OR PHYSICAL)
  • FIGHTING
  • UNSAFE/WRECKLESS BEHAVIOR OF ANY KIND IN THE LOCKERS OR ON THE ICE
  • DESTRUCTION OF RINK PROPERTY OF ANY KIND
  • DISOBEDIENCE/DISRESPECT OF SHINNY HOCKEY COORDINATOR OR ANY RINK EMPLOYEE
  • Failure to comply with and/or any violation of these rules shall result in a suspension from the facility of up to one year.
